Churches no longer open for prayer

Church buildings can no longer be kept open as a place for people to come and pray following stringent new restrictions put in place by the Scottish and UK Governments on Monday evening (23 March). The measures reflect the need to slow down the spread of the virus, reduce the peak impact of it and prevent the NHS being overwhelmed. We encourage people to use alternative means to stay in touch as a church community whilst staying at home to reduce the spread of coronavirus. Instead, use telephone, social media or email contact.

Uddingston Old Parish Church Coronavirus Update 19th March 2020

The Church of Scotland has advised that ALL SERVICES and other gatherings should be discontinued during the present Coronavirus crisis

This means that all activities that use our halls, and the morning service at Uddingston Old Parish Church are all cancelled until further notice.We will reopen when we are advised that it is safe to continue

In the meantime… the church will be open for personal prayer and reflection this week 16^th – 20^th March from 10am – 12noon ..

From the 23^rd March the church will be open from 10am – 12noon.. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.. until further notice for personal prayer . The minister will be present during these times.

During these times it will also be possible to leave donations of food for the foodbank.

If you intend to come to the Church during any of these times Come through the main doors not the side doors of our halls when entering our church premises. Please observe strict hygiene protocols and please keep personal distance.

Although our Sunday services are cancelled we haven’t cancelled worship; we’ve cancelled a religious service at a specific time, in a specific place, on a specific day, but folks will still worship God when they are caring for each other.
