Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust is an independent local charity that provides Volunteer Drivers to take local cancer patients to hospital appointments, clinic and day-care facilities. The service is primarily for people who have no other financial means of getting to their appointments and who couldn’t cope with hospital transport. The Volunteer Drivers make an enormous difference to patients’ already high stress levels by delivering a caring, free service to and from their much-needed cancer appointments.

Their drivers give their time and vehicles free of charge, and they are looking for more to join them on any midweek day that suits them. They repay drivers at a rate of 35p per mile expenses.
