Our meeting on January 26th was a great start to the New Year. The theme was Camp Fire Songs from Around the World. We all thoroughly enjoyed them especially the different verses that appeared in  “Coming Round the Mountain” . Other favourites were the Wild Mountain Thyme, Mhairi’s Wedding and Three Craws. Muriel had researched each song and was able to inform us as to who had written them and the story behind some of them. Immediately after our interval, when tea, coffee and cakes were enjoyed by all, we were treated to a rendition of the Anniversary Waltz,  in celebration of Sam and Anne Thurley’s 63rd Wedding anniversary which was that day. Thank you to all who came along and also to Peter McLean for his marvellous playing and Muriel for all her informative notes. Hope to see you all on the 23rd February
