Sun 30th September:
Tea and coffee in the large hall, all welcome. After the service we will be moving as many as possible of the blue chairs from the session room to the small hall – if anyone can lend a hand it would be much appreciated.
Mon 1st October:
- There is a change to the Monday Club programme. We will now be having a Bite & Blether from 2 – 3.30 pm. If you require transport, please contact Anne McIntyre on 329239. Please bring along any poppies you have knitted.
- United Men’s Fellowship at 7.30. The speaker at this, the first meeting of the new session, will be Rev Les Brunger, Minister of Burnhead Parish Church. All welcome.
Tues 2nd October:
First meeting of the Guild for the new session at 7.30 pm. This is a ‘Jeely Piece Night’.
Wed 3rd October:
We are inviting our 18 – 40s to join the Minister in our new Godly Play room from 7.30 – 9 pm for coffee, cake and colouring-in.
Fri 4th October:
McMillan Coffee Morning in the large hall 10 am – 1 pm. Donations of home baking will be gratefully received for this worthy cause. Hot rolls will also be available.
Sat 6th October:
We will hold our first family Godly Play from 10.30 – 12 noon in our new Godly Play room. If you are interested in coming, please let the Minister know.
Sun 7th October:
Sacrament of Communion at 11 am in the church and 6.30 pm in the large hall. This will be the re-commencement of our evening services. There will be a retiring offering after both services in favour of St Andrew’s Hospice.
There are still seats available for the theatre trip to Edinburgh to see Motown The Musical on Saturday 24th November. Tickets cost £65, and all money should be paid to Isobel Read by the end of September. Further details are on the small hall notice board.
Over the next few weeks, Grace McKirdy will be collecting the poppies that have been produced to allow them to be prepared for planting. If you have any, can you please pass them to Grace.
St Andrew’s Hospice are running a Spiritual Care Conference in the Tudor Hotel, Airdrie, on Thursday 25th October. The theme is “Can spiritual care support realistic medicine in practice?”. Further details and booking information are on the notice board.
