Dear Friends and Supporters of Grow Uddingston,

As mentioned before, we hosted the judges for the “Beautiful Scotland” Awards on Wednesday (2nd August).

The Committee would sincerely like to thank everyone who helped with getting the village and surrounding areas ready for the judges’ visit. I am sure you will agree that Uddingston was looking great during the week, with hardly a weed or a piece of litter in sight! The floral displays at the various locations were looking fantastic. All of this was down to all the hard work and support of volunteers, individuals, local business and supporters, as well as great help and support from South Lanarkshire and North Lanarkshire District Councils and Rosebank Garden Centre. 

It would be great if we could keep Uddingston looking as good as it is at the moment but, as mentioned above, it doesn’t just happen. The necessary volunteer work continues and we could always do with more volunteers. If you are able to help for an occasional hour between now and the end of September, please come along on a Monday at 6pm, meeting outside the Bank of Scotland on the Main Street, or contact me via the Grow Uddingston email address.

We don’t get the official results until the beginning of September but in any case we are proud of how good the village looks at the moment. If you can help us maintain this standard, please get in touch!
